KBC Grading Standards For National Geographic Magazines
The following is a description of what we mean by the various
descriptors we
use for grading used National Geographic magazines. We do not
purport to adhere
to any universal standard, since there is none that we are aware
of for these
items. Our main intent is to ensure that any prospective buyer
understands what
he or she is getting. Please feel free to enquire further about
the condition
of any specific item that you are considering.
- Excellent - Essentially unblemished, older issues may
be faded slightly.
- F or Fine - Spine intact, no tears or significant
spots or stains.
- VG or Very Good - May show wear or cracking of spine,
older issues may have small chips or spots
- G or Good - Portions of spine may be missing, may have
spots, stains, or minor warping due to moisture
- Fair - several moderate defects such as a lot of tape on spine,
or a lot of obscuring writing on cover, etc
- BC or Barely Collectible - has at least one
significant defect (cover loose, some pages stuck
together, significant water damage, or large stain. We will
generally only advertise these if they are
particularly old, or have some special significance, and we don't
have any better ones available.
All items are complete, i.e., both covers are present, and all
pages and ads are present (unless
specifically noted). We may have a few issues which do not meet
any of the above criteria
available at substantially reduced prices (ad collectors take
note!) Please enquire if you would
be interested in any of these.
